Hello, everyone!
We’ve been really busy, so we apologize in advance for taking so long to get our blog updated. We hope you are all doing well!
I am now four months pregnant & into the second trimester. Everything is great so far other than my low platelet issue, but so far it has not caused any side effects. We’ll post some photos of the baby from the ultrasound in the next blog.
David had his last FTX (Field Training Exercise) with the Army in July. He took a few photos while he was away.
We had laminate flooring put in our living room, entry way, & halls in July as well. It looks beautiful & is so much easier to clean!
David has also done more work on our garden patio, though we still have to add more bushes, an entryway, as well as a few other touch-ups. It’s getting there though!
We went to the cabin in Cascade for our 2nd annual trip with Janeen. It was a lot of fun! David’s Auntie Jill joined us for part of the trip. We did a little shopping, went to a restaurant, visited the lake & hung out at the cabin. It was a nice get away! We took a lot of great pictures---here are a few of them:
Ariel turned 2 years old on August 3. She now weighs 29 lbs & is 35.25 inches tall! She’s in the 78% for weight & 86% for height. We had a great time for her birthday party—she had a bug theme this year, and we had lots of family over as well as our friends, the Merrell Family. Here are some photos:
We’re also including the tree photos that we started taking when I was pregnant with Ariel. The tree hasn’t grown that much yet, but you can see how much bigger Ariel has gotten.
Ariel also had her first haircut finally! I took her to Monkey Dooz, a salon for kids, and she had a great time! Here are a few photos:
Ariel & I have been busy with the Idaho Moms’ Network as well; we’ve attended a lot of events & have had a lot of fun. I’ve joined the Board for the next term as the Newsletter Editor. I really enjoy being a part of the organization, & it’s a great way for Ariel to socialize with other kids.
Our friends, Maria & Charles, had their baby boy July 18. They named him Carson Scott. They are doing great so far, & Livie has adjusted well to her new brother. Our friends, Brenna & Asher, had their baby girl, Anna Mae, on July 27. Asher is doing well with his baby sister too. We’re hoping Ariel will adjust quickly when the time comes for her to become a big sister in January!
I’ve had the opportunity to reconnect with a few friends in July & August too. My friend, Veronica, from high school, & her children, Tamara, Dylan, Taylor & Gavin, met up with us for three different playdates during their visit from Moscow, Idaho. We had a lot of fun with them! And of course, Kendra & her children, Donovan, Isaiah & Victoria, came to see us during their visit to Idaho from Wisconsin. Ariel enjoyed playing with the kids!
We also reconnected with our friends, Chad & Nicki. We’re so excited for them—they’re having a baby girl next month! We went to their baby shower to celebrate with them and look forward to meeting their little one.
David’s Uncle Paul & Aunt Tiffany visited us from New Zealand recently as well. It was nice catching up with them! We went to a few scenic places in Boise & had brunch at Janeen’s as well. We also spent some time with them in our backyard, and they got to enjoy many pears while they were here since we had so much fruit from our tree this year. Here are a few photos from their visit:
We’ve had a great summer so far, and we’re looking forward to all the festivities that come with fall & winter.
